This is for you. Meet up with people at your local cafe, bring your Mac and show them how it works. We help with the Eventbrite listing, social media content and follow-ups to get people in the door. [See how hosting works](/connect/community-hours#community-hours-tour) ## Start with your favorite local cafe. Search the map for a cafe, library or community room you’d enjoy visiting. Lithi gives you a short script for the call. Set the date, time and number of places. The QR code opens your event page so people can book a place, and Lithi records that they came through you. Later, you can see which Macs joined the network thanks to your Community Hour. Lithi suggests local Facebook groups where your invitation could fit. Paste. Share. Next. The Lithi Safari Companion keeps your caption and poster beside Facebook. Pick a version, paste it in, make it yours and click Post. A little demo next. Bring your Mac, welcome people in and show them what Lithi does. When someone wants to try Lithi, Nearby Macs finds Macs on the same network. Nothing is added automatically. Share your personal Lithi link by AirDrop, Messages or any app you like. When someone joins through it, Lithi connects their Mac to your introduction. Mark who came and who’d like to hear from you. The host guide walks you through the hour, and the Connect guides cover the details when someone wants more. ### Where can I host one? {#host-location} Choose a suitable local cafe, library or community room and agree permission with the venue before publishing the event. ### What does Lithi help prepare? {#preparation} Lithi helps prepare the Eventbrite listing, social content and follow-ups. You review the details and choose what to publish or send. ### Who approves invitations and posts? {#approval} You do. Review the audience, account and content before approving an invitation or post. Preparing an event does not approve every later action. ### What if a Facebook group has not accepted me? {#group-acceptance} Record that you asked to join, then wait until you’re accepted before posting. You can also skip the group or mark it as not a fit. ### How do referral earnings work? {#hosting-earnings} Not for hosting, sharing a link or a signup by itself. When a Mac you introduce earns from eligible paid work, you can receive a share of its earnings, as long as the introduction is linked to you. The share is 10% of the eligible earnings of the Mac owners you invited, capped at 5% of gross settled distributable Compute revenue, and it follows accepted work and customer payment.
