## Choose by your Mac and goal

Check your Mac's requirements, then choose by the work you want to support and the earnings terms you accept.

### Lithi Connect may suit you if

- You want to share one personal Mac, or Macs you own or are authorized to manage. Check the Mac requirements before using an earnings illustration.
- You want to compare an illustration using your Mac, hours and electricity price. Business administration is optional.
- You want to choose when your Mac can help and pause sharing whenever you need it.

### Darkbloom may suit you if

- You own a high-memory Mac. Darkbloom's model table starts at 36 GB of memory, so it is aimed at Macs above that line.
- You want to take part in a research preview and accept that its own documentation says not to use it in production.
- You want the revenue share Eigen Labs announces: 95% of revenue to providers.

### Before joining

- Lithi's earnings figures are illustrations. Work is never guaranteed, and pay follows accepted work after the customer has paid. Darkbloom's reported figures describe its operator's claim.
- On Lithi, your share comes from a provider pool shared among the Macs that helped, rather than a fixed amount per Mac. Invites and introductions are paid from Lithi's share, and the rest runs and grows the network.
- Lithi describes its isolation in its own words. Compare it with Darkbloom's published design and read each project's security documentation before you decide.

## Other networks, different goals

exo and Hyperspace work differently from paid task networks. Compare their purpose, reward model and device requirements before treating them as earnings options.

| Network | Purpose | Rewards | Devices |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| exo (exo labs) | Open-source cluster software for your own devices

Full source detail:

exo is open-source software (Apache-2.0) that links your own devices into one AI cluster, so you can run models too large for a single device.

The repository describes no payment, marketplace or compensation for contributing a device.

The macOS app requires macOS Tahoe 26.2 or later. ### Mac rental prices — optional context

Cloud rental prices show what a customer pays for hosted Mac capacity. They are not Mac-owner earnings and do not describe Lithi Connect pay.

<details>

View the three rental rates

| Mac host | Hourly price |
| --- | --- |
| M1 (mac2.metal) | $0.65 an hour |
| M4 (mac-m4.metal) | $1.23 an hour |
| M4 Pro (mac-m4pro.metal) | $1.97 an hour |

## Choose what fits your Mac

### What kind of work does each network run? {#type-of-work}

Lithi Connect uses your Mac's computing capacity for suitable AI tasks. Darkbloom runs AI workloads, while exo links your own devices to run models. Lithi is not bandwidth sharing or crypto mining. Earnings come from accepted AI work, rather than selling internet bandwidth or mining cryptocurrency. Your Mac uses its internet connection to receive assignments and return results. Start with one personal Mac and choose when it can help.

### Which option fits my Mac and my goal? {#darkbloom-comparison}

It depends on your Mac and what you want to do. Darkbloom's model table starts at 36 GB of memory. Lithi Connect is for anyone with a supported Apple silicon Mac, starting with one personal Mac. Its current setup needs at least 16GB. Check macOS and task qualification too; published earnings illustrations are a separate check. A high-memory Mac may suit Darkbloom if you are comfortable with a research preview.

### How should I compare earnings? {#earnings-comparison}

The two figures are not measured the same way. Eigen Labs told The Register that people earn $120 to $200 a month per machine, on average. That is the company's own statement. Lithi's published illustrations range from $41.83 to $285.73 a month at 12 available hours a day, after estimated electricity and before tax. These are planning assumptions, not measured earnings or promised work. The two numbers measure different things. Lithi's 50% is paid on revenue Lithi brings in, bills and checks for you. Darkbloom's 95% is its own announcement, with no published fee schedule.

### What share goes to Mac owners on Lithi? {#mac-owner-share}

50% of eligible task revenue goes to the Macs that helped complete accepted work. A Mac that invited another Mac earns 10% of what that Mac earns, up to 5% of the revenue, paid from Lithi's share rather than the pool. The rest stays with Lithi to run the network: finding and billing customers, routing and checking every task, support and payouts. It also pays for growth, including social media ads that Lithi plans and checks with its own Meta Ads kit, so more customers bring more work to share. Work and earnings aren't guaranteed.

### Can I earn with exo? {#exo-earnings}

exo's repository describes software for linking your own devices into one cluster. It describes no payment for contributing a device, so it is a tool for running models on your own Macs rather than a way to earn.

### How current is the information? {#source-freshness}
