# Set up and manage your Macs

Your Macs live in **Agent Network → Macs**. This page shows you how to manage one supported Apple silicon Mac or several personally-owned Macs: choose when each one works, check that it is ready, and pause, update or remove it. Start with one supported Mac and add others when you are ready.

## Check your Mac

Use an Apple silicon Mac with at least 16GB of memory, running macOS 15 or macOS 26. Setup checks that your Mac can take part.

Supported families include MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, iMac, Mac Studio and Mac Pro. Check the chip and memory in **Apple menu → About This Mac**. Setup checks the Mac's current software, model and capacity before it takes work. A family name alone does not qualify every configuration for every task.

| Mac | What to check |
|---|---|
| MacBook Air or MacBook Pro | Apple silicon, at least 16GB of memory and macOS 15 or 26. |
| Mac mini, iMac or Mac Studio | Apple silicon, at least 16GB of memory and macOS 15 or 26. |
| Mac Pro | An Apple silicon model with at least 16GB of memory and macOS 15 or 26. |
| Intel Mac or a Mac with 8GB of memory | These do not meet the current requirements. |
| MacBook Neo | Its 8GB of memory does not meet the current requirement. |

For example, check a personal MacBook Air in **About This Mac**, then run setup on that Mac. A qualifying chip, memory and macOS version are the starting point; setup still checks whether it can take part.

Compatibility and an earnings illustration are separate. Some compatible configurations have no published earnings illustration; that does not make the hardware unsupported. [Estimate what your Mac could earn](/connect/earnings) lets you check the configurations with stated assumptions.

### MacBook Air {#macbook-air}

MacBook Air models with M1 through M5 chips include configurations you can check against the requirements above. Some earlier configurations have 8GB of memory.

### MacBook Pro {#macbook-pro}

MacBook Pro comes with a range of Apple silicon chips, including Pro and Max variants. Check the chip and memory of your particular Mac.

### Mac mini {#mac-mini}

Apple silicon Mac mini models include M1, M2, M4, M5 Pro and M6 configurations. Check your model's memory as well as its chip.

### iMac {#imac}

Apple silicon iMac models include M1, M3 and M4 configurations. Some have 8GB of memory and do not meet the requirement.

### Mac Studio {#mac-studio}

Mac Studio offers Apple silicon Max and Ultra configurations. Check its chip, memory and macOS version before setup.

### Mac Pro {#mac-pro}

The Mac Pro with M2 Ultra is an Apple silicon model. It can meet the compatibility requirements, although the estimator does not provide a Mac Pro earnings illustration. Intel Mac Pro models do not meet the chip requirement.

## Set up your first Mac {#personal-mac}

Pick the way that suits you. Both end at the same check in **Agent Network → Macs**.

If you want your AI agent (such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor) to help, start with [Use your AI with Lithi Connect](/connect/docs/use-your-ai). It works for one personal Mac as well as several personally-owned Macs. You do not need a business to manage more than one Mac.

## Add another Mac {#add-another-mac}

Set up each Mac on that Mac, from the official setup or download page. Every Mac keeps its own identity. You can move the installer to another Mac, but moving a file does not enroll it. The Mac still has to finish its own setup.

If someone else will share their Mac, they sign in and say yes themselves. Your access to an account does not let you enroll their Mac.

## Check a Mac is ready {#verify}

Open **Agent Network → Macs**. Each Mac shows where it is in this order:

| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| **Nearby candidate** | Lithi has spotted a Mac that could join. It is not set up yet. |
| **Installed** | The Lithi app is on the Mac. |
| **Enrolled** | The Mac has its own place in your account. |
| **Qualified** | The Mac has passed the checks it needs before it can take work. |
| **Available** | The Mac can be given work right now. |
| **Executing** | The Mac is working on a task. |
| **Accepted work** | A finished task passed review and counts. |
| **Earned, payable, paid** | The money steps that follow accepted work. See [Earnings and payouts](/connect/docs/earnings). |

A Mac can be online without being qualified or available. A Mac that needs attention stays visible with its next step instead of being counted as ready.

## Choose working times {#choose-working-times}

Check the working times and time zone shown for your Mac. Pausing stops new assignments regardless of the schedule; current work follows its completion or cancellation rules. Your own use of the Mac always comes first, and so does its normal maintenance.

If your AI agent suggests a change to your working times, ask it to show the current times and the exact change before it applies anything.

## Pause, update or remove a Mac

Pause a Mac when you want it to stop helping for a while. Install updates through the update that Lithi publishes, then check the new version in **Agent Network → Macs**.

Deleting the app, or taking the Mac out of a management group, does not remove it from Lithi. To remove a Mac, use Lithi's remove option, then check that it no longer shows as enrolled.

## Ask your AI later

Your AI agent can keep helping after setup. You could ask:

- “Which of my Macs need attention?”
- “Pause this Mac tonight.”
- “Review the working times on my Macs.”
- “Help me add my Mac mini.”
- “Review the current Lithi update.”
- “Remove my old Mac.”

It can only use the access your Lithi account already gives it, and you still approve each change.

## Business Macs {#business-fleet}

If you manage company-owned Macs, see [Set up business Macs](/connect/docs/business-macs). That guide covers the extra approval and rollout choices for an organization; it is not required for personally-owned Macs. For a problem with the app or a Mac, use [Connect Help](/help/connect/app-and-device).
