# Provider Finance for business Macs

## Use Finance to inspect business Mac records

Provider Finance helps an authorized person compare the business's Mac earnings with payout reconciliation. It is a read-only view: opening it does not connect an accounting system, move money, change a beneficiary, enroll Macs, or activate work.

Sign in with your own permitted provider account and open [Provider finance sync](/portal/provider/finance). A provider IT role is not finance authority, and customer Compute billing access is separate again. If access is unavailable, ask the provider owner to check your intended role rather than sharing a session or credential.

## Read the visible sections

1. Check Authority status before interpreting an amount. An unavailable read does not establish a zero balance.
2. Find the Mac earnings row for the relevant period and read its Status, Period, Amount, and currency.
3. Read Compute payout reconciliation separately. Its Status, Reconciliation, and Next action explain the recorded payment state.
4. If Compute costs appears, treat it as separately authorized customer invoice information. It is not a deduction from Mac earnings or a command to settle the difference.

Confirm the amount unit before comparison. Provider earnings records use micro-US dollars; payout records use minor units. Do not interpret every raw number followed by USD as whole dollars.

## Prepare a useful accounting comparison

Use the business's existing accounting process to match the authorized provider statement with its period, currency, unit, reference, and net amount. Record any earnings adjustment separately from the associated payout.

An external receivable means money recorded as owed to the business; an external payment annotation is bookkeeping, not Lithi payout confirmation. Do not mark a Lithi payout Paid because your accounting system has a paid label.

The current Finance view has no Save mapping, Connect accounting system, or Pay button. Do not substitute an invented API call or a customer Compute work key. Where an authorized statement export or separately supported integration is available, review its exact records and permissions before using it in the existing accounting process. A named finance product alone does not prove a working integration.

## Recover a missing role or unsupported action

If the page reports billing_action_required, ask the provider owner or finance contact to review the record. IT can check device setup without seeing or changing financial details.

If an integration request returns use_export_or_read_back, use a supported authorized export or read the existing record; it does not approve a write to the accounting system. Refresh the same read after correcting access, rather than creating duplicate finance connections or repeating a payment request.

For a conflict, preserve the period, currency, unit, displayed status, and safe reference. Keep bank details and credentials inside their approved setup boundary, not in an AI prompt, source file, or support screenshot.
