Install Lithi on a compatible Mac, review each permission request, and confirm the version you opened. Use the current download page for the supported package and the safest next step.

## Check your Mac

Lithi runs on Apple-silicon Mac computers. Check the chip and macOS version in **Apple menu → About This Mac**, then compare them with the requirements shown on [Get Lithi](/download). If your Mac is Intel or does not meet the listed macOS version, do not continue with this guide.

Make sure the Mac has enough free space and that someone can review macOS prompts. You may need an administrator password if macOS asks for one.

## Start with the download page

Open [Get Lithi](/download) on the Mac where you will install the app. If the page shows no download button, Lithi is not available for download yet. Return to that page later; do not use a file shared elsewhere or try to create an installer.

When the page shows a download action, use it. Keep the displayed version with the downloaded file so you can compare the copy before opening it.

## Install and open Lithi

Open the downloaded item from Finder and follow the visible macOS steps. If it is a disk image, copy Lithi to the location shown by its instructions, then eject the disk image. Open Lithi from its installed location.

If macOS warns that it cannot open the app, stop and keep the exact message. Do not disable security settings or open a different copy to work around the warning.

## Review permissions

Read each permission prompt before choosing **Allow**. Confirm that the app name and requested access match what you expect for your work. Choose **Don’t Allow** when a request is unexpected, and ask your support contact what to do next.

You can review or change access later in **System Settings → Privacy & Security**. Allowing a permission does not confirm that every other setup step is complete.

## Verify what you opened

Check that the Mac meets the requirements, then compare the downloaded file with the details shown on [Get Lithi](/download) when a verification value is provided. Do not open or share a file whose value differs.

After Lithi opens, use its visible About or version view to confirm the installed version. Note the Mac model, macOS version, app version, launch result, and any warning without including private messages, credentials, or customer content.

## Update, remove, or troubleshoot

For an update, return to [Get Lithi](/download), use the download action shown there, and confirm the new version in About after opening it. Do not replace Lithi with a file from another source.

To remove Lithi, quit the app and move it from Applications to the Trash. Removing the app may not remove its data or permissions. Use the visible settings and your organization's retention rules before deleting support files.

If the page has no button, wait for availability. If macOS blocks the app, keep the message and use [the current setup guide](/docs/get-started). If a permission is unclear or the version check fails, stop and return to [Get Lithi](/download).
