Use Team to check the role and plan EmailOS can resolve on this Mac, review an invite, and keep conclusions within the evidence you can see.

## Read the local view

Team is a main EmailOS area beside Today, Rules, and Knowledge. Settings remains a toolbar sheet.

**Your role** describes the person using this Mac. **Your plan** shows the local entitlement that EmailOS can verify. These cards provide context; a label does not grant a capability by itself.

**What each role can do today** is a local capability guide. It is not a live directory of your organisation.

## Understand the boundary

The current view is single-Mac. It does not show a live roster or promise organisation-wide role assignments. A blank people list is the honest result when that evidence is unavailable.

Read [roles and states](/docs/reference/roles-and-states) for descriptive terms. That guide explains language; it does not turn a role name into current access proof.

## Review people and sources

**Invite a friend to Lithi** helps you review people already found in local email history. It sends nothing, prepares no draft, and assigns no role.

For a shared connection, an approved teammate connects the tool from their Mac. Teammates receive scoped, cited facts rather than credentials, private inboxes, or raw provider records.

Keep three questions separate: who is the person, what source supports the fact, and what may EmailOS show or do? A label without its authority is context, not proof.

## Review an invite

If an invite opens, check the inviter, team name, proposed role, and expiry. Nothing changes on this Mac until you confirm.

Choose **Join team** only when the details and effect are clear. Read any warning if joining would replace an existing team or change your role.

The Team area is not a roster or access-removal console. Use your organisation's approved owner or administrator process when access needs to change, then verify the resulting state.

## Solve common questions

If you see only your role, that is expected for this local view. If the plan is not enough to open an action, the action needs a separate entitlement or capability check.

If **Bring in your team** is unavailable, follow the message shown. If an invite says nothing is sent, treat it as local review only.

Keep the role, plan, and invite details with the person who made the decision. Do not copy private mail or credentials into a team note.
