Share your Mac
Choose voluntary Mac sharing, deliver the official release through an appropriate route, complete target-side setup, and distinguish readiness, accepted work, earnings, and payout.
Decide whether sharing fits your Mac
You choose whether a Mac you own can help with suitable AI work. For a business-owned or shared Mac, get the responsible owner's approval first. Managing a device or knowing its password is not permission to use it to earn revenue.
Check the current release's hardware, macOS, storage, and power requirements. Installation support and eligibility for a particular kind of work are separate. You do not need to invite people or install an iPhone companion to share a Mac.
Use one setup journey, whichever delivery route applies
Nearby means transferring the official, unchanged installer to the intended Mac, for example with AirDrop. The recipient accepts the transfer and completes installation and setup there.
Somewhere else means opening the official setup or download link on the target Mac. Reading a link or QR code does not install software, enroll a device, or accept contribution terms.
Managed fleet means an authorized business uses its existing management tools and a compatible official package for selected Macs. It is a delivery choice, not a new Lithi device-management service.
These are ways to deliver the same setup, not a promise that your app has a three-button device panel. If the required delivery option is absent, use the official link or ask the business administrator; do not invent a remote-installation shortcut.
Install and complete setup on the target Mac
- Use the official download page and the release it actually offers. Registration alone does not supply an installer.
- Follow the offered installation instructions and open Lithi Connect from Applications. Do not install a package that fails verification.
- Leave any sample account and choose Setup Lithi. Confirm your intended account and provider workspace.
- Complete the provider checks and required software preparation. Use Continue setup or Try this step again only when the relevant setup view offers it.
- Read the current status and any first unmet step before treating setup as complete.
Never transfer private keys, certificates with private keys, account sessions, or an enrolled app directory from another Mac. Each Mac needs its own setup and identity.
Choose working times and keep ordinary use first
Review the availability policy presented for your provider workspace, including the timezone and ordinary office hours where applicable. The after-hours policy is not permission to interrupt staff, maintenance, or your own work. A local pause takes precedence over the workspace default.
Use only the availability and pause actions offered by your installed app and authorized role. The provider portal's Availability page is a read-only summary, not a policy editor. Check the resulting state after an allowed change; a request or offline device cannot prove immediate completion.
Do not assume work continues after logout, without a logged-in user, or while a Mac is asleep. Unattended business operation needs explicit support for the selected release and setup.
Read the state that answers your question
A delivered file is not an installed app. An installed app is not an enrolled Mac. Online means a current connection, not permission or capacity to receive work. Eligibility also depends on current policy, compatibility, resources, and the work offered.
Accepted work has passed its required checks. Earned amounts follow the applicable allocation and eligibility rules; Payable means ready to pay, not Paid. Setup, benchmark activity, and an idle online Mac do not establish earnings.
Recover without weakening protection
If a download is incomplete, return to the same official release instructions. If a setup check fails, record the app version, visible step, and notice, then use the offered retry or Help path. Do not repeat enrollment because a status refresh failed.
Leave Gatekeeper, firewall, disk encryption, and business management policies intact. A network restriction belongs with the authorized IT team. Sharing provider work does not authorize access to your unrelated documents, Mail, or Contacts; the separate privacy guide explains the processing boundaries.
